Nice view point from up here. You can see a goid part of Funchal, the Christ statue and the beach. Very well worth the stop if you are nearby.Full review by Jean-Francois L

We stopped there briefly as part of a tour of the East of the island. There must be buses that go fairly close, although it would not be too long a ride for a taxi. It is very easily accessible from the small parking area with no steps of note. But the best views of it are from the viewpoint below which must be 200 steps or so. You can, however, just go down as many steps as you feel you would be able to get back up, stop and turn around. You will get a better view of the front of statue than you will get at the top. Don't go out of your way though, there are numerous far more impressive things to see in Funchal than this.
