Deafheaven, the long-running and critically acclaimed metal band, have signed with Roadrunner Records and will make their debut on the label with Lonely People With Power. Their first album since 2021 is due out Mar.

Described as Deafheaven’s “most ambitious release yet,” Lonely People With Power was produced by Justin Meldal-Johnsen, who has worked with St. Vincent and M83, and mixed by GodCity Studio’s Zach Weeks of GodCity Studio. The album also features vocals from Boy Harsher’s Jae Matthews and Interpol’s Paul Banks.

In the years since 2021’s XInfinite Granite, Deafheaven have been touring hard, sharing stages with Knocked Loose, Coheed and Cambria, and Touché Amoré. That’s set to continue, as the post-metal five-piece just announced their new album,

Johnsen, who was behind the boards for Deafheaven’s 2021 album Infinite Granite. That project reached the top 20 on Billboard ‘s Top Independent and Top Rock Albums charts. Lonely People With Power also sports guest appearances by Interpol’s Paul Banks on “Incidental III” and Boy Harsher’s Jae Matthews on “Incidental II.
