Manchester United rejected the chance to sign Harry Kane in favour of a move for Rasmus Hojlund, it has been revealed. Kane decided to leave Tottenham in 2023 in search of silverware, eventually joining German giants Bayern Munich in a deal worth close to £100million.

Former Manchester United assistant coach Benni McCarthy has claimed the club did not pursue Harry Kane as they didn't view the England captain as a worthwhile investment. Former South Africa international striker McCarthy spent two years at Old Trafford working alongside ex-United manager Erik ten Hag and has now shed light on the failed attempt to sign the former Spurs goalscorer.
