On Tuesday, the National Park Service stated that the cherry blossoms along the Tidal Basin had reached Stage 1 (green buds) on their way to peak bloom.

Portland's cherry blossoms are expected to hit peak bloom this week — weather depending — according to Parks and Recreation. The big picture: Blossom lovers vying to snag content of the flowering trees are expected to swarm Tom McCall Waterfront Park starting Thursday through the end of the month — so plan your trip accordingly.

"The most likely time to reach peak bloom is between the last week of March and the first week of April," the NPS says. The NPS has predicted peak bloom will be March 28 to 31 this year, while Storm Team4 predicts peak bloom between March 28 and April 3.
