Eighteen defendants are now confined for the distribution of large amounts of methamphetamine in northeast Arkansas.

A federal methamphetamine investigation led to multiple arrests in Poinsett County. Officials with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Arkansas said a federal investigation into methamphetamine distribution has resulted in 18 arrests.

A federal drug crime task force on Tuesday arrested 17 people accused of operating a methamphetamine trafficking ring in and around Poinsett County, with an 18th person already in custody and three more suspects indicted,
