Connecticut faces a deep freeze with sub-zero wind chills from an arctic air mass this week after a winter storm brought several inches of snow on Sunday.

The forecaster's discussion said that some parts of Connecticut and the tri-state area may be affected by the northern side of the precipitation shield, providing the possibility for some light snow, primarily for the coastal areas.

Relatively mild temperatures mostly in the low 40s are expected Monday in Connecticut before a cold front arrives later in the day, weather service said.

Connecticut is in for a frigid week starting overnight on Sunday, Jan. 19, according to the National Weather Service and AccuWeather.
