And it's not that I've matured beyond cartoons. I assure you that I haven't. It's just...I don't think that outrageously wealthy cartoon characters are all that funny anymore in this economy.

For many decades, Black Americas have sat their children down in front of the TV to enjoy what we thought were wholesome, entertaining cartoons, with practical moral lessons and cautionary tales.

As a cartoon character, he’s a legend ... He's the hunted one, the one tending to his garden when the white guy with a gun or Confederate soldier comes along to ruin his day.
