Rivers rose and flooding worsened across the U.S. South and Midwest, threatening communities already waterlogged and badly damaged by days of heavy rain and storms that killed at least 18 people

Floodwaters washed across communities in Kentucky and Ohio on April 6 and 7 after the area was hit with several days of heavy rain.

Many of Kentucky’s rivers will either set new crest records or come close to it this week amid major flooding.
