BAY AREA, Calif. (KTVU) - A bill calling for new studies examining the safety of athletic fields made from recycled tires gained approval in the State Senate Environmental Quality Committee Wednesday.
At an Amherst Board of Health meeting earlier this month, there was considerable discussion about the safety of crumb rubber infill used for playgrounds, parks and other public recreation facilities.
