The Royal Oak Planning Commission has delayed Corewell Health’s long-term plan to open a new surgical center across 13 Mile Road from its flagship hospital in southeast Michigan.

His first day on campus will be April 3. “I am honored to lead the incredible team at Corewell Health’s Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak,” Carey said in a statement Monday.

Operators of Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe recently unveiled a new hybrid operating room and eight expanded and renovated surgical suites at the hospital located at 468 Cadieux Road.

Dr. Daniel Carey, MD, MHCM, will be the new president of Corewell Health’s Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, which has been renamed Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital.
