The Tampa Bay Lightning have announced they plan to retire the jersey of former captain and longtime fan favorite Martin St. Louis on January 13, 2017.

The Tampa Bay Lightning announced Thursday that Martin St. Louis’s jersey retirement ceremony will take place Jan. 13 before the puck drops against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Martin St-Louis had a penchant for big playoff goals during his time with the Lightning, and those highlight his five best moments in Tampa Bay as the team gets set to retire his jersey.

Martin St-Louis will have his No. 26 retired by Tampa Bay in January 2017, and Lightning owner Jeff Vinik said the timing felt right to honor one of the greatest players in franchise history.
