The first quarter gave Clinton-Massie a 14-0 lead over Waynesville. The Falcons registered a 38-8 advantage at intermission over the Spartans. Both teams were shutout in the third and fourth quarters.

Outlook: All that kept the Spartans out of the playoffs last season were losses to unbeaten D-IV state champ Clinton-Massie, 8-2 Carlisle in OT and 10-3 Milton-Union.
