The Smithsonian is pushing back against allegations that some artifacts are being removed from the National Museum of African American History and Culture following President Trump's executive order to purge "improper ideology" from the broader institution.

Rev. Amos Brown said he was notified that two artifacts he loaned to the National Museum of African American History and Culture would be returned to him.

Kevin Young, an acclaimed poet who was named director of the National Museum of African American History and Culture in 2021, is on personal leave for an “undetermined period,” according to an email obtained by The Post.
