HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) – A powerful cold front swept through Hampton Roads on Thursday, causing temperatures to plummet from the 70s into the 40s and bringing a rare March snowfall to the region.

A Weather Impact Alert is in effect Thursday as temperatures plunge from the 80s into the 30s across Hampton Roads, with gusty winds and showers.

Another round of wintry weather hit the WAVY viewing area Sunday, Feb. 22 into Monday.
