Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith capped off another sensational night with a championship-clinching, 56-yard reception on third down in the final minutes of 2025 College Football National Championship.

Ohio State freshman Jeremiah Smith piled up 290 yards receiving in two postseason wins and was looking like the star to stop for the rest of the College Football Playoff field.

“He's one of the most talented dudes I've been around … you always want to try to get him the ball,” Ohio State quarterback Will Howard said, per ESPN. “But he can also take out two or three guys at a time [as a decoy], and sometimes that's a good thing.”

Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith moved to second on the program's single-season receiving touchdown list after the star freshman hauled in a score in the College Football Playoff National Championship against Notre Dame.
