The state and the correctional officers’ union agreed that officers should return to work Monday and that some provisions of a solitary confinement law would be put on pause.

New York State says it's giving corrections officers on strike at dozens of prisons its final warning to return to work or face consequences.

The deal also suspends element of the state HALT Act that restricts use of solitary confinement as punishment.
