San Diego FC will visit the reigning MLS Cup champion L.A. Galaxy at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT) on MLS Season Pass and Apple TV+ in the league’s first "Sunday Night Soccer" showcase. As MLS begins its 30th season, San Diego FC begins play as the 30th team in the league.

As first impressions go, this was close to perfection. San Diego FC introduced itself to Major League Soccer Sunday night with a 2-0 road victory over the league’s most prestigious franchise, and nothing about the performance screamed fluke.

On one side, you’ve got San Diego, diving headfirst into the league, trying to carve out a name for itself. On the other, LAFC, one of the most dominant teams in the MLS in recent years, letting go of a promising talent in what seems to be, at the very least, a strategic move to free up international roster space.
