The OKC Thunder extended its league-best winning streak to 11 games with a 132-111 road victory over the Washington Wizards on Saturday.

While a lot was made of the wanton violence seen in the NBA during the 1970s, '80s and '90s, Julius Erving recently revealed that the action in the American Basketball Association (ABA), the league he was drafted into in 1971, was just as ferocious.

One of the players who built their career in the ABA was Julius Erving, who developed his acrobatic, flashy style in the league before bringing it to the NBA. Dr. J. became one of the faces of the ABA during his time with the New York Nets,

The Wizards battled in this one on the strength of 3-point shooting (44 percent) to start out the first half, which kept them within striking distance of the Thunder. This game was ultimately decided by the Wizards inability to defend the Thunder without fouling.
