This former 49ers coach could be back in the NFL soon after taking a one-year hiatus in 2024 to join the Jets.
Robert Saleh is back as defensive coordinator of the 49ers, and all is right with the world. For now, anyway. Coach Kyle Shanahan has cycled through DeMeco Ryans, Steve Wilks and Nick Sorensen after Saleh’s departure following the 2020 season to become head coach of the New York Jets.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports the Cowboys are finalizing a deal with Eberflus to take on DC responsibilities as expected. He adds that Nick Sorensen is also nearing a deal to become the team’s new ST coordinator. Tom Pelissero of NFL Network was the first to report the latter hire was expected.
Candidates are emerging as potential coordinators if Aaron Glenn winds up being be hired by the Jets as their head coach. More at PFR.
