Ithaca College has long had a mascot identity crisis. Students voted in 1937 to call themselves the Cayugas. Bombers replaced that within a few years, but a true mascot has proven elusive.

Lyons, who graduated from Ithaca College’s Roy H. Park School of Communications in 2014, hopes to meet his $10,000 Kickstarter goal by Sept. 26, when the campaign ends.
