There's no reason to limit limewash to just the walls. This room from Lucas / Eilers Design Associates L.L.P. has a seafaring wallpaper, but uses a marine-inspired, blue-green limewash on the ceiling.

I have suggested Benjamin moore for many years. Just used Ben. Very transparent. Had to use 4 coats on a beige wall. Paint that costly should be maximum 2 coat paint. Never again. I was disappointed.
