TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Meta has begun limiting the use of the red triangle emoji on Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp due to its connection to the Palestinian resistance group Hamas.

Meta has deemed the inverted red triangle (and its accompanying emoji) a proxy for pro-Hamas support, and is enforcing its removal on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

Facebook and Instagram Restrict the Use of the Red Triangle Emoji Over Hamas Association Users of Meta’s platforms could see posts taken offline if they include the upside-down red triangle symbol.
