Argentine driver Carlos Reutemann, who raced in 146 Grands Prix and won 12 times throughout a career that saw him drive for the best teams in Formula 1, died on July 7 at age 79.
Reutemann became Governor of Santa Fe on December 11, 1991 for a full four-year term in a province where heads of the executive are banned from seeking a consecutive term.
Reutemann’s political career began when he was elected as governor of Santa Fe, Argentina in 1999, a role he held until being elected to the national senate in 2003.
