Lighter carbon-fiber parts, added muscle everywhere, and a top speed that trips a limiter at 186mph are the highlights of BMW’s upcoming M3 CS Touring xDrive. And it’s something BMW has never done before. Sure, the Bavarian automaker has made a few M3 wagons in its time, but it’s never made a CS range-topping version before.

While it's unlikely that BMW will reverse course and start selling an M3 wagon in America in time for the M3 CS Touring, U.S. buyers looking for a new M car with a long roof do have an option. The newest M5 is also sold as a wagon, and it comes complete with 717 horsepower of plug-in hybrid fury.

The U.S. received an M3 CS sedan as a limited edition for the 2024 model year, but don’t expect the wagon to make it here, as the regular M3 Touring remains off-limits for our market. BMW does offer the larger and more powerful M5 Touring here, however.

The global unveiling of a BMW has taken place in Australia for the first time with the reveal of the 300km/h M3 CS Touring. BMW’s M division has been testing the M3 CS Touring for well over a year now and has just started to tease the car online, indicating that its global launch is fast approaching. Several images and videos of a prototype testing at the Nurburgring Nordschleife have been published, and it is shaping up to be even cooler than an RS6.

As if the standard M3 Touring wasn't aggressive enough, the M division is preparing an even hotter BMW M3 CS Touring.

We don't get the M3 Touring in America, which is a shame. Because the current 3 Series and M3 wagons have not been homologated for the United States, the hotter M3 CS Touring isn't coming here either.

The M3 CS Touring is expected to follow the same formula as the M3 CS sedan that was sold in 2024, which means extra power and less weight.
