MOSCOW (Reuters) -Russia said on Thursday that it shot down 105 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions, including dozens heading towards Moscow, as the war in Ukraine heats up while major powers discuss ways to end Europe's deadliest conflict since World War Two.

Moscow’s mayor said 18 drones had been intercepted flying toward the capital Wednesday as travelers faced disruption at airports that were forced to suspend operations.

A law has come into effect in Romania that allows its armed forces to down unmanned aerial vehicles unlawfully breaching its airspace, as the NATO member acts to tackle a growing number of Russian drones landing on its shores.
