There is a new lightning capital in the United States as Florida has officially been dethroned, according to a new report.
"Thundersnow can be found where there is relatively strong instability and abundant moisture above the surface," says the NSSL.
Historic blizzards have caused fatalities, major damage, and lasting infrastructure changes.
