Yonhap news agency says South Korean prosecutors have indicted the impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol over his imposition of martial law.

On Feb 3, Mr Seok Dong-hyeon, Mr Yoon’s close friend who recently joined the team of Mr Yoon’s legal representatives, said in a radio interview with YTN that Ms Kim “does not plan” to visit Mr Yoon while he is currently detained at the Seoul Detention Center over charges of insurrection and power abuse.

South Korea hit another political milestone on Sunday, as impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol became the country’s first sitting president ever to be indicted.

The Constitutional Court is separately deliberating whether to formally dismiss Yoon Suk Yeol as president or reinstate him. Yoon was impeached and suspended by the assembly last month.
