Scores of Los Angeles residents have returned to the wildfire-ravaged Pacific Palisades neighborhood after officials began letting people drive back into the scorched community

For the first time since the devastating fire erupted, all Pacific Palisades residents were allowed to return home, as evacuation orders for the final two neighborhoods in Los Angeles were lifted shortly after noon on Monday,

Palisades Fire initially started 10:30 a.m. Jan. 7 in Los Angeles County. It has burned 23,448 acres after being active for 20 days. A crew of 1,043 firefighters has been working on site and they managed to contain 94% of the fire by Monday afternoon. The blaze's cause remains under investigation.

The LAFD reports the Palisades Fire is 63% contained, with 6,380 structures lost and 857 damaged; evacuation orders are slightly eased.

At least 29 people are believed to be dead and more than a dozen others remain unaccounted for as multiple wildfires rage across Southern California.
