Making homeownership affordable, an inflation refund, an expansion of the Child Tax Credit, and free college tuition for certain eligible New Yorkers were some of her more noteworthy proposals.

Affordability proposals include a middle class tax cut impacting more than 8.3 million New Yorkers making less than $323,000, inflation refund checks of up to $500 per family, an expanded state child tax credit of up to $1,000 per child and universal free school meals for all students.

Gov. Kathy Hochul will take a look back at the past year in New York during her State of the State address Wednesday. Hochul is expected to start the state’s 57th annual address around 1 p.m. in Albany.
