Jul 1, 2019 · The tour includes walking a distance of about one mile through the Naval Academy Campus. Allow time after the tour to explore on your own. Visitors are allowed on campus from sunrise to 5 pm or sunset, whichever is later, daily.

Unless part of a special event, normal visitor access to the Naval Academy is from sunrise to sunset. During these periods visitors must use Visitor Gates 1, 3 or 8. The Visitor Access Center is located by Gate 1 which is at the intersection of Randall Street and King George Street.

Feb 9, 2025 · Let’s start with the big one. It’s the first thing most visitors notice when they step onto the Yard, probably because it’s the tallest point on the Naval Academy campus. This Beaux-Arts masterpiece boasts an iconic copper dome that gleams in the sunlight.

Preble Hall houses the U.S. Naval Academy Museum. It was named for Edward Preble. Ricketts Hall contains the basketball, football, and lacrosse offices, the locker room for the varsity football team, and one of the academy's three "strength and conditioning facilities," where Midshipman athletes train. It was named for Claude V. Ricketts.

Note: Visitors will not be granted access before sunrise or after sunset unless coming on for a specific event (e.g. basketball game, ECA meeting, Chapel service).
