Chingy releases “right thurr” The young St Louis rapper had been Nelly’s opening act in 2002 and was quickly signed to Ludacris’s new label and shortly thereafter released his hit debut single “Right Thurr”. Becoming something of a summer 2003 anthem thanks to its club friendly lyrics and beat, the single reached number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number one on the Hot Rap Songs chart. The success of the song helped Chingy’s debut album, Jackpot, sell over two million records by 2005. #C
