Happy Tuesday Tribute! Here’s a video of my dad Hoyt Axton playing “Evangelina” in the 1980’s. “Evangelina” is one of his better known songs, thanks in part to Colter Wall who covered it as a single on his 2023 album ‘Little Songs.’ My dad originally released the song in 1976 on his album ‘Fearless’ but it didn’t chart until he recorded & released it again in 1979 on the album ‘A Rusty Old Halo’ & it got to #37 on the US County charts. Other singles from that album included “Della & the Dealer”
