Outtakes with Marilyn Monroe and Dean Martin from her final film, “Something’s Got to Give.” Without question she would have been exceptional had this film been completed. It was a great role to showcase her comedic talents (away from the dumb blonde persona), and she literally glowed while onscreen. Note that she’s speaking in her true voice here. “The Rose” (starring Bette Midler-Fansite) was released in 1979. Rodney Dillard, Doug Dillard, and Byron Berline got the opportunity to play the backup band for Harry Dean Stanton. The project started out as a dramatized biography of Janis Joplin but they had to “generalize” it after the Janis Joplin Estate wouldn’t sign off. We’re onscreen for about ten minutes or so.
