“Gotham City’s Gothic History” - A Timeless Animated City: Batman: The Animated Series is an animated television show, first airing on September 5th, 1992. Originally developed by Bruce Timm and Eric Radomski, the show's visual style of the 1940s dark deco and film noir was influenced from Tim Burton's recent Batman films at the time, 'Batman' (1989) and 'Batman Returns' (1992), even in the first season sampling Danny Elfman's theme for the opening credits.
